Assignment #1: Reflections
Format: 2 pages max, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12+ font, one-inch margins. Please
include a title page (does not count towards page limit) with the following information: Assignment
title, name, B00 number, and date.
Research: No outside research is required for this assignment. Students are expected to engage
with at least one course reading in each reflection. These need to be cited in APA format. Students
are also encouraged to draw on lecture materials in crafting their reflections. These do not require
citations. The bibliography does not count towards the overall page limit.
Due: The three reflection are due at 1pm on the following dates: January 30, March 3, March
19. Online submission in Microsoft Word via the Brightspace assessment folder with the file
labelled FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME_DATE.docx.
Grade: This assignment is worth 30% of your final grade (10% each). They will be graded based on
the evaluation rubric below.
Description: Each student will write a reflective summary on the question posed by each module
(e.g. Module 1: Where does my food come from?). These posts should identify connections between
themes and readings discussed in class. The reflection should not be a summary of class
material! Instead, aim for a critical and creative reflection on key topics discussed each week,
including individual opinions and experiences. Students can focus their reflection on one or two of
the items discussed during the module. Reflections should consider the following guiding questions:
